Eli Katz, Managing Partner of BBV and Special Advisor of BBVUF, was a general partner and a portfolio manager from 2002 to 2005 for Chestnut Ridge Capital, LLP, a hedge fund managing $100 million.
Mr. Katz was Senior Vice President for international equities at Knight Securities from 1995 until January 31, 2002. As one of Knightâs original employees, Mr. Katz was charged with the responsibility of starting an international trading desk at the new company. As head of the department, he developed and implemented strategies that consistently produced high net profits for Knight, and which was among the most profitable trading desks at the Company. At Knight, Mr. Katz managed 20 people, including traders, trainees, and back-office employees. Together with trading, Mr. Katz was also responsible for sales trading with institutions and banks in Israel and Europe.
Prior to joining Knight, Mr. Katz was Senior Vice President of equity trading at Troster, Singer & Co. (acquired by Goldman Sachs). From the time Mr. Katz joined Troster in 1986, he broadened the international desk by developing a client base in Israel and abroad. Mr. Katz was previously an entrepreneur working out of Israel, where he was involved in a number of retail and wholesale ventures. Mr. Katz received his B.Sc. from Brooklyn College (City University of New York).
